Modern Prairie Sewing.. at Always in Stitches!!!!

When I found my book, Modern Prairie Sewing, sitting on the book shelf at Always in Stitches in Noblesville, I was so excited!!!
The gals at Always in Stitches were happy too, so we got together and set a date for me to have a book signing!

 Turnabout blouse...

 my books...

  signing...

This gorgeous young lady is my cousin, Hannah.
She was super sweet and offered to test out the Everyday Sundress back when I was working on the pattern.
She wore her Everyday Sundress to the book signing and it looked
SO cute on her!!!
(Proof's in the puddin'... ^ )

I had such a great day!!! I had a lot of fun at my book signing and enjoyed talking to quite a few gals who were just like me... they love to sew and see where their imagination and fabric will take them!

I especially loved seeing my family (and a couple friends!) walk up.
Wow. I have the most amazing and supportive family ever.
And I love them to pieces. Each and every one.

Thanks so much, Always in Stitches, for having me!
You have a beautiful and inspirational store.

my cousins and their smiles...

... and their Sophie Bags

These beautiful girls are my cousins. Not only are they my family,
but they are always so willing and ready to test anything that I come up with!

The Betty pouches were just a little bit of a thank-you + hugs I sent along with the bags.
(If you want to make your own Betty pouches, you'll find the pattern in here!)

So thankful for these girls and their big smiles!
Love you, Faith & Hannah!

Crazy wonderful family.

I have the most amazing, supportive, sweet, and adorable family ever!!!!
Of course, you recognize my sisters, Apphia (left) and Achaia. They found themselves
on the front and back cover (and throughout) of Modern Prairie Sewing.
But you haven't met my cousin, Caleb.
He was so excited about my book that I was reeeeaaally excited
and reeeeaaaaally humbled.
Caleb is a master musician!!!  His music is amazing and really glorifies God.
I'm so proud of him!!
And his CD, Desert & Sea (scroll down...) would make a fabulous Christmas gift. Just in case you were wondering. I've listened to it over and over again.

I'm super thankful for my crazy wonderful family!!!!
I love you, Caleb!!!!  xoxo Abs

Spreading the Love

Nothing as sweet as being able to be a part of a growing love and ability in a little cousin's life.
I was so humbled and thrilled to be able to mail a copy of Modern Prairie Sewing as a birthday gift from my great aunt Dot (her Memaw - shhh, don't tell!) to my little cousin for her birthday. Ella's been learning how to sew. My Nanny helped Ella make a sweet dress and now Ella wants to explore the beautiful world of sewing.
I can't wait to see what her little hands make first!
A Maggie bag in the works! And now finished and ready to be carried everywhere! Do you want to see the finished bag? Or do you want to be surprised and see it at a book signing, trunk show, or International Quilt Market? Tell me and I'll see what I can do!
And the Leeway apron and the Simple Wrap scarf pictures? Well. Those girls are some of my very favorites, so I just had to!!!! By the way! The apron and scarf would make fabulous Christmas presents! The style can easily be changed just by what fabric you choose to make your project out of! So just give it go!
Big Love,
Abi

Success Story

Betty Pouches made by my crafty cousin, Faith, from Modern Prairie Sewing

Yay!  A fun success story that I had to share with all of you!  My cousin, Faith, is a very talented and crafty girl (you see - besides being bonded by blood, we're bonded in the creative gene too!). When she snapped a picture of these Betty pouches that she had made from Modern Prairie Sewing for her college roomies, I had to show them off! How cute are they??!

I wish I were her college roomie.
No. Wait.
Better still. I'll stay her cousin.

I love you, Faith!!!
