While it's still fall!

I'm typically a little late when it comes to sewing up my fall clothes.
Living in the Ozarks doesn't give a lot fall-feeling days. One day it's short sleeves and the next day I'm looking for the thickest sweater I own! I'm okay with that though, but this year I've tried to really look for any bit of autumn coolness so I can enjoy it while it's here!

When my sweet friend, Melinda, gave me this fabric, I was so excited to make something with it!
It took a full 2 minutes for me to decide that I was going to use this fun fabric to make a tunic.

The Lela tunic was easy to sew. Really. I whipped it up in an afternoon and wore it that evening.
It's comfortable and great to wear. Just perfect for fall.

However, I'll be truthful and say that I'm not calling it my 'Lela' tunic, but my 'Melinda' tunic.
Because if it weren't for her, I wouldn't have it anyway.
Thanks, Melinda! Love you!

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner!  If you're short on time, but have the fabric that these projects call for and Modern Prairie Sewing, you'll be good to go!  Actually, most all of the projects from my book, would be great for last minute gifts!  Sew and have fun giving!

Pieces & Letters Pillowcase. S is for ?

Pieces & Letters Pillowcase ready to go show and tell at The Rabbit's Lair in Rogers, Arkansas on the 22nd of this month!!!!!! I'm so excited!!  I'm sewing up a storm over here and could use some help with fabric suggestions. I will try and keep you updated with how my progress goes. And if you don't hear from me, it's very likely that I'm up to my eyeballs in gorgeous fabrics and thread and can't manage to make it to the blogging world.

What I absolutely love about this project??  It's sew simple! A perfect beginner project.

And since I just decided to make a letter I'd never done before, you can decide what you want the S to stand for. Let me know what you think it should be!

XO's from here, Abi

Spreading the Love

Nothing as sweet as being able to be a part of a growing love and ability in a little cousin's life.
I was so humbled and thrilled to be able to mail a copy of Modern Prairie Sewing as a birthday gift from my great aunt Dot (her Memaw - shhh, don't tell!) to my little cousin for her birthday. Ella's been learning how to sew. My Nanny helped Ella make a sweet dress and now Ella wants to explore the beautiful world of sewing.
I can't wait to see what her little hands make first!
A Maggie bag in the works! And now finished and ready to be carried everywhere! Do you want to see the finished bag? Or do you want to be surprised and see it at a book signing, trunk show, or International Quilt Market? Tell me and I'll see what I can do!
And the Leeway apron and the Simple Wrap scarf pictures? Well. Those girls are some of my very favorites, so I just had to!!!! By the way! The apron and scarf would make fabulous Christmas presents! The style can easily be changed just by what fabric you choose to make your project out of! So just give it go!
Big Love,
Abi

What Says Beauty.

                                                                Just Beauty.

I told you I'd share more pictures!!!  I'm so happy you love pictures like I do.

We're back from our vacation and had a wonderful time!  I'll probably be caught pretty soon posting pictures that we took while we were up and away. Abiah did a mini photo shoot with Achaia and I in Nan and Paps' backyard. I'll ask her to post her favorites on here!

Oh yes! Again, I decided to go with Jennifer Paganelli fabrics and the skirt pattern I used is from my book Modern Prairie Sewing!  Please go grab a copy and share pictures of your creative fun!

And just one question. What says "Beauty" to you?
