Circus Laundry Bags

 Nothing like going on vacation!

But..... there's nothing like having to do laundry when you get back either. Right? 'Course, the vacation is completely worth having the mounds pile of laundry that need to be done when you get back. Naturally.

Here's a super fun tutorial I wrote for marie-madeline. I hope you like it too! The small bag is perfect for 1-2 people, while the large bag is do-able for a family of 4. Maybe. (Can you tell I'm guessing here?)

CIRCUS LAUNDRY BAGS!

Doing laundry was never so fun!  Go for it!  What can you loose?

Divine.

Two Beauties. Sunny Day skirts. Tulle. A wood pile. Chambray & denim.
                                                                     It was divine.

I had so much fun taking these pictures of my gorgeous sisters, Abiah & Achaia!  I have a lot more that I want to share along and along. If you don't mind?

The skirts are the Sunny Day skirts from Modern Prairie Sewing. And the fabric? Look no further than Jennifer Paganelli!  The skirt Achaia is wearing is made from Jennifer's JoAnn's line, Jenny Eliza. And I had to pull out tulle to make Abiah's skirt extra 'zippy'. I used Jennifer's Beauty Queen for the top skirt. What do you think?

I'm going on vacation!!!!!  Back home to see family and friends and relax. I can't wait!!!  I will be posting once in a blue moon, so stay tuned!

Sunlight through Jars

When I started writing Modern Prairie Sewing, the look that I wanted to get across was high on my priority list. I knew what I liked, but making it come alive for other people to see and enjoy was more work than I had it figured for!  Working with C&T helped in a huge way!  They were right there helping me and one of my fabulous editors, Michele, finally pegged it for me.

"Your style is Amy Butler meets MaryJane's Farm."

Duh. She was right! Why hadn't I thought of that? (Thanks, Michele!)
A light bulb came on and I saw a little bit of light that made styling my book a lot of fun.

XO Abi

PS - Oh! the old buttons in glass jars? Doesn't it look adorable? One of my very favorite ways to store my buttons. (Pst! It's a clever tip in Modern Prairie Sewing!  There are a ton more clever tips in there too! Can't wait for you to found them all out.)

Over the weekend!

We had a great weekend! All of us girls were a part of the cantata we sang at Church Sunday evening. It was so much fun! Afterwards we burned - er - cooked hotdogs over a very original Oklahoma style campfire. Desserts went all around and then we set off a TON of fireworks!  It was the absolute best. So thankful for such amazing friends!
 Ingenious. Right?
        Lottttsss of ffuunnn!!!!!

Hope your Independence Day weekend was as sparkly!

the 4th of July!!!!! (Let's say it with firecrackers!)

                                                                  July 4th, 1993

                                                                     July 4th, 1995

                                                                          July 4th, 2000

Independence Day has always been a bright and happy holiday in my mind.

It usually meant a family cookout. Watching fireworks at night; maybe in your pj's curled up on an adult lap. Handling your own sparklers when you're "a big kid".

But most of all, it's a time to celebrate the joy of freedom.

Freedom.

No one can quite say it like John Wayne does in his Republic speech for his movie The Alamo!  Have you seen it?  OH! you really should!  It's one of my favorites. (But then again, I'd watch anything John Wayne.)

Lots of Sparkly Love from over here!
