Modern Prairie Sewing Success Story from The Sewing Basket!

I opened up my email the other night to find one of the sweetest, most encouraging reviews of
Modern Prairie Sewing possible!

The review came from Lou Ann of The Sewing Basket
"Hi Abi, I just wanted to write to say that I have been selling your book at homeschool shows and quilt shows since it came out. I buy it at United Notions.... Anyway, I teach sewing when I'm not doing shows and I have just finished a year of working through your book with 6 teen girls. They (and I) loved it! 3 of them made the Riverwalk skirt! No easy task, but a very great pattern. I have used other books, but wanted to let you know that your book is excellently written and illustrated! I am ready for your second book! In the works? Thanks again for a great book!
Lou Ann Rudeseal, The Sewing Basket, Arlington, TX"

She sent me the above picture of her cute sewing girls in their Riverwalk skirts with the note:
"I'm serious when I say we truly loved your book!!"

I loved looking through Lou Ann's photos on her Facebook and spotting numerous projects that her sewing students made using Modern Prairie Sewing. They did a fabulous job. And three cheers for those girls who made two of the most time consuming and thought provoking patterns in my book! You made the Jael bag [pictures above] and the Riverwalk skirts beautifully and perfectly!

Thanks so much for sharing with me, Lou Ann!
Hugs to you and your sewing girls down in Arlington, Texas!

My sweet sweet friends, Jenny and her daughter, Kelsey, shared these pictures on
Modern Prairie Sewing's Facebook wall.

Kelsey's wearing a Sunny Day skirt from Modern Prairie Sewing.
How cute is she?!
I love the trim that Jenny put around the hem of Kelsey's little skirt.
So fun!!!!

These pictures made my day!  Thanks so much, Jenny & Kelsey!
I love you two.

This girl. She's adorable, happy, fun, lovable, joyful, sweet, and she's one of my very best friends!
Meet Becky!
Of course, you've already seen her make an appearance here through the
marvelous modeling she did when we were shooting the pictures for
Beck made herself a Simple Wrap Scarf from Modern Prairie Sewing!
She did a terrific job on her scarf and made one
for a friend too.

I can't wait to hug you, Becky!!!!!

Another Modern Prairie Girl! {Kyla}

"Ms. Abi - thank you so much for making the book, I really enjoy it, and I loved making this skirt. I'm sending you an air hug!
Hearts, Kyla"

I'm definitely sending many airhugs back, Kyla!  I met Kyla, her mom, and grandma at the trunk show that The Rabbit's Lair hosted for Modern Prairie Sewing. Spending time visiting with them (especially Kyla) was so exciting and I loved every minute of it.

Kyla's an adorable, energetic, happy little girl. Plus, she's a creative genius. It made me so thrilled to see her wheels turning as she fingered the sewn items from Modern Prairie Sewing while we talked  at The Rabbit's Lair. A couple days later, this popped up on our Instagram feed. What a joy!

Will you just look at this girl?!
Kyla made herself an adorable Sunny Day skirt from Modern Prairie Sewing.

I love it, Kyla! Way to go. Keep it up, girlie.

xoxo to you, Abi

Another Modern Prairie Girl! {Karen}

This adorable lady was so excited when she heard Modern Prairie Sewing was out! Her husband surprised her with a copy on their 25th wedding anniversary!!!! How awesome is that?! I signed her special copy when I went into JoAnn Fabrics yesterday. My sisters were with me and we all signed the front cover of her copy of Modern Prairie Sewing. Thanks, sweet Karen, for your joy and smile every time we come into JoAnns!   xo Abi
